The 2019 budget division is being seen as problematic because about 60 percent of it will be spent on public sector salaries and pension schemes. Only 40 per cent of the budget will therefore remain for investment and development. The decision on payment that will be made to deputy ministers even after the mandate is completed remains for deputies in the disturbing opposition.
About 1.4 billion euros of Kosovo's 2019 budget is pre-paid for salaries in the public sector, as well as for pension schemes. This division is expected to negatively affect the country's economic development.
It is also expected to displease workers in the private sector, whose salaries are considered to be many lower than those in the public sector.
Commission member for Board and Finance Naser Osmani has told “Zerin” that for this year it is the budget of revenues rather than spending.
