Maja Kocijancic fears reactions, changes words for Trepca

European Union spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic has clarified the stance of European institutions regarding the possibilities that the issue of the metallural plant “Trepca” be included in the dialogue on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia. “
“As to the question of whether the agenda in the dialogue is “Trepca” part of the dialogue, the European Union, as the assistant to the process has always been clear that the agenda in the dialogue is determined by Belgrade and Pristina. We do not have any interpretation over matters of which they do not desire to talk. They bring to the table issues they consider open and then have to agree on whether they want to talk about each issue, so that the legal agreement can be reached on all open issues”, Kocijancic said.
She has added that dialogue is aimed at resolving all open issues between Kosovo and Serbia.
There was an all-powerful normalisation of Belgrade and Pristina relations through dialogue, which the EU is helping, cannot be achieved until long-term stability in the region. The comprehensive and judicially binding agreement on normalisation is urgent and decisive that Serbia and Kosovo can progress on their European roads”, spokeswoman Kocijanciq has ordered.
This clarification comes after the harsh reactions that have been marked in Pristina following the publication of the news that the European Union considers that “Trepca” should be resolved under dialogue”.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has deemed the EU's position regarding “Trepca” unacceptable.
“Declaration of European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijanciq, given to Serbian media, that Trepca must be part of the dialogue is the hopeless, unacceptable attitude and, as such, violates the sovereignty of the state of Kosovo”, Haradinaj wrote on Facebook Tuesday.
Many Kosovo politicians and Kosovo Assembly deputies have called on Tuesday to cut off all contacts with the EU for dialogue, unless Brussels's stance around “Trepce is clarified”.
