The function of the brain of early awakes and sleepers during working hours is different, according to one study.
Researchers scan the brains of both groups.
The eights carried out between 0800 and 800 discovered that people at night had fewer connections in consciously linked brain regions.
They also had weaker attention, slower reactions and increased drowsiness.
Researchers suggested that night owls were disadvantaged by “definitions” of the typical work day.
They asked for more research to understand the implications of the health of those who stay up at night in their daily work.
