Vuk Jeremic, chairman of the People's Party in Serbia, who has also held the position of UN General Assembly President, has said world order is in serious crisis and, according to him, the UN needs reform. He says the current UN composition is not reflecting on the position of true states' relations with the world, he says, Periscope.
The current situation is unstable and needs to be changed, and for this, a reform is needed at UN”, Jeremic has said at the UN General Assembly session dedicated to strengthening the World Organisation and its principles of multilaterism.
Jeremic has been invited to the event as one of seven former UN General Assembly presidents, who remained in that position from September 2012, until September 2013. In 2016, Vuk Jeremic was Serbia's candidate for UN Secretary General, but failed to take that position.
“Throughout the course of history, history has been created and sometimes even disappeared often overnight and sometimes in slower stages. I think it's probably a little early to talk about the existing system, but in my opinion, we're ignoring a fact that this institution is going through a multilaterism crisis”, Jeremic said. /Periscope.
