These comments Haradinaj gave when asked whether he would back off the tax decision, following pressure from US State Department officials.
“E is very difficult to get an action, as is a review of the tax suspension. This, since we still don't know what we're going to suspend the tax in exchange. Will the dialogue continue how it has been so far, or there will be guarantees for reaching a final agreement that does not affect the two countries' borders”, Haradinaj has said at a news conference.
The way the dialogue has developed so far has cost us a lot. So it shouldn't go on like that. A contract should be reached, in which it is said that no actual borders will be affected, and that there will be no Association with executive competencies in Kosovo. Actually, someone's referring to territory, someone's limits, I don't know what this is about. We cannot enter a process without leadership as a state, as we are losing our position in dialogue”, Haradinaj said.
Haradinaj along with Kosovo President Hashim Thaci during yesterday's meeting of two American officials, chief director of European Affairs at the US National Security Council, John Erath, and US National Security Council Director Brad Berkeley.
It later became known that at that meeting American officials have requested suspension of the 100 percent tax, for the sake of dialogue.
Their request had found support with President Hashim Thaci, but not with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.. / P ERISCOPIA
