Foreign Affairs Minister in France's government, Natalie Loisau, has said that currently the European Union will not allow new countries to become its member.
Although, she says, Serbia has a European perspective, “The EU currently won't accept new states in its Bay”, writes B92, forwards Periscope.
“France thinks Serbia has a European perspective, along with its history, its civilisation is part of Europe”, it has said during the visit to Belgrade.
It has added further that Serbia and Montenegro are among the countries that have made the most progress on the European road.
But as long as we're friends, we're committed to telling them the truth: currently the European Union, under these conditions, will not accept any new state in its Bay”, she said.
She has said that part of the terms of Serbia's road to the EU is naturally the dialogue on normalising relations with Kosovo”, until she added that France has consistently made such a call”, Periscopi follows.
