The National Institute of Public Health in Kosovo says it is carefully conveying the epidemiological performance of seasonal flu across the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, intensifying work on the ground.
From October 01th 2018 to today at the Institute, the Health Ministry has already provided sufficient amounts of vaccines since October 1st 2018 and has been distributed by IKSHPK at every QKMF in Kosovo so elderly and chronically ill citizens are still recommended to be vaccinated.
The widespread vaccine in Kosovo has shown an efficiency and reduction of hospitalised cases.
Currently, the epidemiological situation is under control in terms of seasonal flu, but with the current climate situation ruling in Kosovo, there is the possibility of increasing cases.
Kosovo's National Health Institute reports it has increased vigilance to cope with eventual flu A cases H1N1 and is able to transmit the epidemiological situation, and any change in the situation will be announced over time.
Kosovo National Institute of Health officials warn that virus A H1N1 is part of the group of common flu viruses.
We test the media to have caution in the use of exact terminology regarding the type of flu referring to IKSHPK communiqués. The institute has provided appropriate professional recommendations for citizens to be careful and not to be in cold environments for long, not to stay in closed locals with large population density, and to use as many hot fluids and vitamins” as possible, the report says.

Prevention measures to spread the flu virus
The most efficient way to prevent the seasonal flu virus is to vaccinate the flu vaccine.
• The vaccine protects the person himself and helps prevent the spread of the flu.
• Consumption against seasonal flu takes place in the months of October 30, but also throughout the winter season.
• The effect of the vaccine starts between 1 and 2 weeks after receiving, and protection continues about a year after the vaccine.
