Ibrahim Rugova was a writer, philosopher and intellectual. It is one of the founders of the Republic of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), without which the modern history of Kosovo cannot be written without mention, writes Metro newspaper.

Many myths and words have been published about the late President Ibrahim Rugova. But few are familiar with the facts about him. The Metro newspaper, has taken care of and talked to relatives of Rugova, his advisers, elementary class and research associates, to bring in interesting facts that are not publicly known.

Below, we bring you six interesting facts about Rugova, his life and his tastes, which you have not known so far.

  1. He always kept his mother with him. Rugova at the first moment that created financial opportunities and won the scholarship... made sure his mother was taken to Pristina, which was unique and rare at the time for a student in Kosovo. He rented a flat in the Lakzrech neighbourhood in Pristina where he lived with his mother forever, even after he married, until she passed away.
