This resolution has been submitted by members of the Democratic Party, while this is the first step to challenge the American president's decision on financial means regarding the construction of the wall along the border with Mexico.
Pelosi has predicted that this resolution would receive sufficient votes in the House of Representatives, because the majority of its members are from the ranks of the Democratic Party. If the resolution passes to this vote, it will be sent to the Senate, where most senators belong to the Republican Party and where the success of the vote is more unclear.
About 226 House of Representatives lawmakers have offered support to democratic representatives from Texas, Joachim Castro, who has given the idea for this resolution. “What the president is doing is the unconstitutional takeover of power”, Castro said during a press conference, calling for everyone to vote on the resolution despite party differences, writes “Reuters”.
