US Ambassador to Kosovo Philip Costnett, today stood for a visit to Gjakova, where he had separate meetings with the mayor of the municipality, Ardian Gjini and the Municipal Commission for Communities and Kthim.
Gjakova Mayor Ardian Gjini said that with Ambassador Costnet, they talked about economic and social development opportunities in Gjakova, as well as Kosovo's future. He added that the people of Kosovo are blessed to have a friend like the United States of America.

The American diplomat was reportedly relatively to the situation of communities not majority in the municipality of Gjakova, while appealing that all citizens respect each other and turn Gjakova into an exemplary city where mutual respect and ethnic, cultural and religious diversity prevail.
On the other hand, members of the Municipal Commission for Communities requested from Ambassador Costnet his help in reintegration of non-communal communities, with particular emphasis on the housing issue, as one of the biggest challenges for these communities, reports Indexline and broadcast Periscope.
