Based on the Strategic Investment Law, this committee at the meeting held on February 19th has confirmed that the company's proposals “Kelkos Energy” meet the technical criteria to be considered strategic investment projects, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
The initiative for implementing such a project had been launched since October 2013, when the company <x0kos Energy” had signed an agreement with the Peja municipality for the construction of five hydropower plants in Rugova villages for about 120m euros.
However, this project was banned with the municipal development plan, which prohibits the construction of hydropower plants in that area because of river degradation, as had happened in the Decani municipality by the same investor.
