Visar Ymer has been praised as one of the most important people in this party, but has not taken a high position in the PSD hierarchy. Ymer said he'd still be part of the PSD, but more will be done with another job in a late-established Institute.
I will remain a member of the Social Democratic Party and will at this time deal with the newly established Institute, which aims to deal with social studies, political prospects from the Social Democrat perspective. I continue to be part of the PSD and politics in the country”, Ymer said.
He also commented on recent changes to the PSD, where he said it was the leadership decision for extraordinary elections within the party. Asked how Moliq will succeed in leading a party when he failed to collect votes either for MP, Ymer stressed that he believes he will have successes but that he needs hard work and commitment.
“has been the decision of the PSD's leadership to call extraordinary elections in the party after the election outcome, and it has been seen in the way that there are changes to have a new start of the PSD. I think that politics is long-term and the PSD should be a party of the left spectrum and that should be profiled in the sense of politics, the concept of ideology and thus pave the way for consolidating itself as a party that represents the interests and hopes of all society, especially those who have difficulty organizing this social system. I think it should work, but it also has to work and engagement”, he said.
The former Kosovo Assembly delegation, at one time even part of the Vetevendosje Movement, commented on recent developments in the country, as well as on failing to reach the ruling coalition between the LDK and Vetevendosje.
According to him more important than the names being commented on is to discuss what the future government will do.
I think with what we've seen and heard, it's a serious choice on both sides, a kind of political immatureness, but for me the most important thing is what they're not talking about, and which is the government program, if this government is founded. Of course, names are important, but the most important is what the future government will do”, Ymer concluded.
