Six Serbian truck drivers were brutally beaten at the border crossing between Ukraine and Romania at the Gjakova-Halmeu crossing about an hour after midnight last year.
“They were beaten by Ukrainian truck drivers and as they were hit they shouted that this is Ukraine and that this is their border,” reports Serbian media.
A group of beaten Serbian drivers clarified that this case occurred at the border between the two countries shortly before entering Romania, during their return home.
“They beat six of us, three of us were badly beaten,” said one of the beaten drivers, under which the seriously injured persons were Radojko Kovacevicq, Milan Rujevic and Dragan Jovanovic.
Serbian truck drivers have been reluctant to show the reasons why they were beaten by their Ukrainian counterparts.
