United States President Donald Trump called for immediate trial in the Senate after the House of Representatives voted Wednesday for his dismissal.

Trump was charged with abuse of power and obstructing the work of Congress.

The case now must be passed to the Senate and lawmakers there must decide whether to leave the president or not.

The Senate is controlled by the Republican Trump Party and the likelihood of its dismissal is seen as extremely small.

However, the Democrats, who have majority in the House of Representatives, have so far refused to take the case to the Senate, saying that this institution does not allow witness evidence and that, in this way, it will not hold fair judgment.

In a series of tweet posts, Trump said the Democrats do not want trial, because their “trast is very bad”.

“They have zero evidence”, Trump said.

Republican majority leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, said earlier that the process in the Senate could take place without witnesses.

What's Trump accused of?

Trump is accused of pressuring Ukraine to discover harmful information about Joe Biden, who may be his rival in the 2020 elections, and his son Hunter.

Hunter worked for a Ukrainian company when Joe Biden was US Vice President.

In exchange for favors from Ukraine, Trump is accused of keeping two things on hold: military assistance to Ukraine, worth $400 million, and a meeting at the White House with the Ukrainian president.

With these actions, according to the Democrats, Trump has abused power, as he has used the president's office for personal political benefits and national security.

Trump is also accused of obstructing the work of Congress because he has refused to cooperate in investigations.
