A 6-year-old from the Pristina region allegedly was the victim of sexual violence by her father, who had sexually abused her with the other girl when she was a minor age. In the summer of this year, a six-year-old girl from the Pristina region had sought medical assistance at one of the QKUKUUE clinics. The doctors had observed signs of physical, psychological, and sexual violence during the examination.
After the six-year search, the Law Medicine Institute was announced with the warning that the minor could have been sexually abused. Soon after, IML professionals had begun checking on the young girl.
The crime that had been committed in it for years had been serious. He was made just by her father, who allegedly sexually abused his minor daughter. This six-year-old is the youngest victim of sexual abuse presented in Kosovo's investigative bodies, but also to the medical staff that occurred this year.
Fearful details for this serious case, but also for the other cases presented and examined by legal doctors in Kosovo, have been awarded to Gazeta Express Bergita Curri, a specialist at the Institute of Legal Medicine.
While explaining cases of sexual abuse that doctors at the Kosovo Institute of Legal Medicine treat, Curry has clarified that the case of the victim in question (six years old), was presented by her older sister. She had reported questioning that her parent was sexually abusing her younger sister.
This year was a girl about six years old. She was another girl's sister. The donor was old, the parent. The victim has been the sister of another married girl, now who also had been the victim of sexual abuse”, has indicated on this serious case the specialist in Kosovo Legal Medicine.
She has stated that within this year there are more than 100 cases of sexual abuse, mainly minor girls who have conducted examinations at the Law Medicine Institute in Kosovo. Their average age is between 11 and 16 years old.
“Brend one year we average about 100 victims of sexual violence. Some 61 percent are of minor age to 16. Examination begins with interviewing the victim, if the victim is smaller and cannot market then we continue with samples. We've seen from the interviews that victims of violence come late to us after having passed clothes after they've been passed”, the forensics explains, adding that abusers of these victims are usually of adulthood.
“has incestes, usually small age, are victims of sexual violence by their parents, or family members, who claim that they have been sexually abused by family members for years. Every year there are reported cases of incest within the” family, she says.
Curri explains that the youngest age of sexual abuse that Kosovo legal doctors have treated has been a 3-year-old girl.
Bergita Curri, an expert at the Institute of Legal Medicine, also explains the traumas these abuse victims face.
The traumas in children are very large, they leave a trail to personality. Traumas are very strong, years go by trying to overcome and recover from that” event, she explains.
And with all this, the Kosovo police are also involved. spokesperson Baki Kelani told Express that in cases of reports of sexual violence, victims are interviewed and then sent to responsible institutions depending on the need for treatment, to continue with procedures.
This goes through the national reference system and this document shares the roles and responsibilities of each institution as in terms of identification, first aid and defence, further assistance and social inclusion, return or assisted reintegration, as well as criminal and civil procedures”, Kelani told Express.
E Kosovo a year ago was shaken by the girl's sexual abuse case from Drenas, so violence reportedly began when she was only 16 years old, originally by her professor. After the police report from the victim, the police investigator had also sexually abused him. Meanwhile, an investigation has also been filed against her lawyer, under suspicion of sexual abuse of this victim.
Disturbing information had also been presented in cases of pedophilia. Over the past two years, 123 cases of harassment, mistreatment or child abuse have been recorded in Kosovo, also known as cases of pedophilia.
According to the Kosovo Police, in 2017, a total of 62 cases of pedophilia were presented to police, and 61 such cases were presented in 2018.
