In January, the school year was interrupted, and the United Education, Science and Culture Union went on strike, due to wage discontent.

The strike lasted a month since SBASK struck a deal with the Government of Kosovo.

In September, Kosovo's Agency for Accreditation left the European Association for the Security of High Education Quality .

“The lack of broad consensus in higher education regarding the agency's role and activities, as well as the lack of human and financial resources to carry out the AKA” activities, were cited as some of the reasons for the departure.

Meanwhile, the main reasons were told to be political interference in education. The chief of the European Union Office in Pristina, Natalia Apostolova, blamed the government and politics for the situation.

The EU office reminded the incumbent Minister of Education Shyqi's decision, taken at the request of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, to dismiss the State Council of Quality in 2017.

Becoming a member of this organisation was not only a major achievement for Kosovo institutions but also very important to facilitate the fragility for Kosovo students and qualified young people. The interruption of membership is a reverse and direct consequence of poor policies in the past, such as the government's decision in September 2017 to dismiss the entire Agency Board without proper reasoning”, the EU Office's response was said.

And, MANT was content to say that they have taken the news that ENQA, has found that the Kosovo Agency for Accreditation does not meet European rules to be part of the Association and as such cannot be part of the ENQA.

Nongovernmental organisations in Kosovo, who deal with education, also blamed politics and mismanagement for the Kosovo Agency of Accreditation itself.

After that, bitter news of Kosovo education came even after the release of test results P. ISA.

P The ISA ranked Kosovo fourth to the list among 79 countries in the world. For this disappointing result, education issues connoisseur Dukagjin Pupovci told news that the main problem in our educational system is lack of responsibility and accountability.

While the head of the SBASK, Nundman Jashar, said everyone is guilty of this failure. According to him, starting with the Kosovo Academy of Sciences, together with the Pedagogogic Institute and others, they must sit down and make a platform for education in Kosovo.

However, Education Minister Fatmir Bytyqi refused to be part of this failure. He reasoned that they did not have enough time to prepare.

From what we said we expect better results, and today there are some better improvements. And we said that because the organization was better. Now who's responsible we have to discuss as a whole because the least of us are, because we've only got it three months before the test. We have to look at the educational system, because this test is done at school. We need to see if we can deal with the curriculum”, Bytyqi stressed.

However, not even the new curriculum has been monitored by anyone from August even though it has long begun to apply. No one even knows how to work in schools or how they perform.

Since 2011, there has been a law that envisions that all teachers should be licensed, but so far there is only a formalism left, since no one from August has made any effort to make their assessment. This minister's scandal included textbooks.

For more than three weeks ago, the news has sent questions to August of all these cases, but the latter have returned no answer.
