About 2,400 people participated in the peaceful demonstration, police said.
According to Reuters, they surrounded the Belgian Parliament building and the royal palace.
The two-hour demonstration took place during the UN Climate Conference in Madrid, gathering representatives from around the world.
The main goal is to seek greater Kilmatic ambitions and the federal government to address the climate crisis,” said Julie Van Hurrive, spokeswoman for the Klima Coalition in Belgium, one of the organisers.
She stressed the need for co-operation between governments and politicians in Belgium.
