Former prosecutor Agron Matjan, suspected of committing suicide

According to the newspaper, Matyan had recently had health problems: He had serious diabetes from which one of his legs was also at risk. The prosecution does not dismiss allegations of suicide, but it says that such a version is too early to speak.

A phone call was made this morning to the Kosovo Police. The latter were reported that former prosecutor Agron Metjan had been found without signs of life in his apartment. His first wife, who had informed him of the order forces, had found him.

The first doubts about all this serious event lead to suicide caused by cutting off the veins of one leg. According to Express sources, Matyan was recently experiencing a depressive state because his condition was burdened with diabetes.

The last “its emotional state has been a little volatious. His relatives told me he was suspected of committing suicide. His wife found him in the bathroom. Recently, his condition also deteriorated by diabetes”, reports the Express, sources within the investigative bodies.

But the case is being investigated as suspicious deaths within the country's investigative institutions.

With the news, the caretaker prosecutor, along with the relevant police units, has appeared at the scene, and the case has been initiated as the suspected “death”, says the Foundation Prosecutor's announcement in Prizren.

Contacted by Express, Regional Police spokesman in Prizren Shaban Osmanolaj, confirmed that authorities have responded to the case of a suspicious death and that the relevant teams are on the ground.

He was formerly the prosecutor at the Raven Crimes Department at the Gjakova Foundation Prosecutor until he was dismissed from his responsibility because of abuse of official office.

During his post as prosecutor, Matjan handled cases of varying and more serious, as is the case of the macabre murder of his wife and daughter by Peter Nocway.
