When they would get to know each other, they would be able to solve controversial issues like neighboring”, Palmer said on Sarajevans television, N1.
In his words, it takes Kosovo and Serbia “to sit at the table, reach agreement and jointly map the way to the European future”, broadcast Koha.net.
Palmer said the reason for the talks is the fact that both Kosovo and Serbia are targeting Europe and it is necessary to see what compromises are needed in order to move forward.
“The agreement which the public on both sides will accept and support as the best way before”, he said, and added that it is important that that the agreement is “applicable, fair and sustainable”.
He said he has very good co-operation with White House envoy Richard Green and that this is not the first case the US appoints two special representatives on the same issue.
