The year 2019 can be considered a success year for the once profitable company in the country, which is making way for the return of glory.

Kosovo's telecom has successfully completed its ten-year battle with Dardaphon, until, even after the threat of transfer to the frozen account owner, this company has not continued this contract, which has reportedly caused millions of losses for a decade.

On July 30th, when the contract has officially been concluded, Kosovo Telecom has announced that after some research has been conducted, it has proved that such an agreement has brought the company into financial crisis.

The evacuation ended the losses, which reportedly amounted to 104 million until Z-Mobile had made more than 79m euros. Cutting off this harmful contract, however, is not the only success of the company.

After the contract is completed, over 200,000 Z-Mobile numbers from this facility have been provided to pass on the Vala platform. This was after the decision that the Board of Directors of Electronic Communications and Posting Authority made (ARKEP). All of this was said to have an impact on financial stability in the company.

Meanwhile, Telekom management has announced that millions of euros have been saved, with several contracts signed for marketing cut.

In an interview for Journal ExpressTelekom's chief executive, Bedri Istrefi, has been talking about the challenges the public company has faced this year.

Istrefi says the year 2019 has been challenging in all spheres because of the problems that have been raised for nearly two decades.

“Viti 2019 has been very challenging in all spheres within Telekom due to problems that have gathered for nearly two decades, most of them challenges have had a positive epilogue. Normally, the main issue of the year has undoubtedly been the return of virtual operator Z-Mobile's numbers process this successfully closed. The same process has been determined by the authority responsible for closing by 28 last month, and it has happened. No consumer of this virtual operator at any moment is without service, and everyone has received minutes and free GB Internet in welcome. The financial impact of restoring numbers is obvious, and in the long term, the same will have even greater financial impact”, he stated.

Telekom's chief chief says negotiating the contract with the network maintenance operator NOKIA, the transition to the new code, is due to intensive commitment to the stabilisation of operations.

A remarkable success is negotiating the contract with NOKIA operator for network maintenance and transition to the new code. Besides as a result of the intensive commitment to the stabilisation of operations and implementation of the transition to the state code, agreement has been reached with Monaco Telecom to support this transition. This accord will also result at costs lowered by -60% until full implementation of the state code, in which case we will be released from all contractual obligations”, he says.

Istrefi explains that for the first time in 20 years, Telekom has managed to form teams for assembly, demonising and shifting antennas. This has saved hundreds of thousands of euros.

On the other side for the first time in twenty years of functioning of Kosovo Telecom, the company has managed with its staff to form teams for assembly, demonising and shifting BTS antennas, according to the need and planning throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

In recent months, the number of displaced antennas for the purpose of coverage, following the interruption of rental contracts, reaches dozens.

With contracts cut out for these (BTS) antennas and their shift to more suitable locations, Kosovo Telecom has saved more than 200,000 euros from staff work, while the monthly savings per antenna are too large”, he says.

During 2019 Kosovo's Telekom has achieved that as contractor it has all local and international institutions that have confidence in the services offered.

Kosovo's <x0]eclore during 2019 has succeeded in having all local and international institutions and these institutions have maximum confidence in our products and services. We are very grateful to all the consumers who have consistently believed in the work and our commitment despite the many troubles we've had.

We are constantly engaged and engaged to come up with competitive products and services in the market, and currently we have better offers besides the other operator”, Istrefi says.

New ones this year have also been offered IPTV services, where major investments have been made in the optical fiber network, which currently ranks in the most modern networks in the region.

Kosovo's <x0.>Telekom, as the current bidder of IPTV services, has made major investments in the network of optical fibers, ranking among the most modern networks in the region. Thanks to this investment, Kosovo Telecom, in addition to providing Internet and IPTV services, on April 12th also offers service O TT (Over the Top) on the mobile and fixed network, further strengthening as the leading communications company. Ministry V ALA TV will provide an easy and personal approach to the consumer through a specially designed app for this purpose, which can already be found in “App Store” and “PlayStore”. Through this app, consumers will be able not only to experience the excellent experience and quality of television services, but at the same time can use all interactive TV viewing elements at any moment and anywhere.

On the platform V ALA TV is part of the country's most watched television channels, but also Pay TV, making it possible for the consumer to have numerous choices for the service. That makes V ALA TV the most important and most wanted operator in Kosovo, in terms of the variety of telecommunications services”, becomes known.

Meanwhile, as for the new collective contract, defining relations between Telekom and workers, this, according to Istrefi, testifies that the company is of particular importance to the relationship with workers.

This collective contract is compiled in line with the national contract and clearly defines relations between Kosovo Telecom and employees, raising the sense of security, respect and responsibility at work, as well as determining the right and impartial solution to possible disputes in the future. The signing of this contract also creates new channels of communication, enables workers to participate in decision making, and simultaneously proves that Kosovo Telecom, in addition to developing ordinary business activities, also costs particular importance to the report with its employees”, he has announced.

Finally, the public company has thanked consumers for sticking to the services provided.

Kosovo's “Teleclomy thanks all the consumers who believe in the VLAA and invites them to remain loyal to our services, while our colleagues want to encourage them to continue with their dedication in performing daily tasks and tasks for the development of our company”, Istrefi said.

Kosovo's telecom is a public company transformed into a stock society, in which the fixed phone and mobile Vala operate. Operator Vala has over 1.2 million consumers at the country level.

The company has approximately 2400 employees, while the average salary is estimated to be over 730 euros. The government of the Republic of Kosovo is the owner of 100 per cent of Kosovo Telecom shares.
