Kosovars spent over 36m euros on holiday end of year

With 18 percent of the population in full poverty and 5 percent of them in extreme poverty, however, Kosovars prove to be quite concerned at holidays, especially the holiday season.
In this period of time, poor citizens in Europe spend millions of euros until over 80 percent of households in Kosovo celebrate the new year.
According to the “report The spending of Kosovo families for end-of-year holidays, 2019” implemented by Uboconculting, each family in Kosovo spends an average of over 150 euros on these holidays, while in total expenditures amount to 36m euros.
“81 percent of households in Kosovo celebrate the holiday season”, the report stresses.
According to the report, 74 percent of the money for holiday season goes to food and drink, 12 percent for decorations, 7 percent for gifts, and 7 percent for other gifts.
In the question of why this holiday is not celebrated, 70 percent have responded that they do not celebrate for religious reasons.
“70 percent are for religious beliefs, 19 percent for economic reasons, and 11 percent for other reasons”, the report follows.
The influence of social networks on Kosovars seems to be big enough. Even when information about various products is being questioned. As a major source of information about products for holiday holidays, it has turned out to be through television and social networks.
“64 percent have said that they receive information from television, while 59 percent from social networks” concludes the report.
