Firefighters indignant with Government: How come you're not ashamed, how you discriminated against us for additional means?

The fire union through a letter today has been addressed to local institutions regarding the situation created in this service and specifically expressing disappointment with the Government's decision that today decided to allocate additional overtime tools for Kosovo Police worth 2m euros. In a communique for [...]
In a media communiqué, Kosovo firefighters reportedly call this government decision discriminating, as they have been bypassed and ignored by firefighters, and that this gesture according to them shows that firefighters are unprotected and that nobody cares about this category of employees.
“We are not against that the tools were divided for the police, but why we are being discriminated against for years and because by law, firemen are staffed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and this action comes from the moment no one expected it, as institutions were in a position to make decisions, as the government is resigning on duty”, it says on paper.
Furthermore, Kosovo firefighters warn they will follow all legal ways to realise their legitimate law-based rights.
We were in talks with the country's institutions since the arrival of Haradinaj government and we had continued talks, promised tools and budgets, shared 1.7m euros, and I have all on paper, and nobody knows where they ended up, even at the government's meeting are public statements of Minister Hamza that 2019 will be the year when firefighters have chosen all problems and will have enough budgets for all issues and equipment. So we seek answers to why this happened and say that you are not ashamed and how they can make extreme discrimination and violation of the rights of workers. This is highly unacceptable and demotivated for fire department”, says among other things in the letter sent to incumbent Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, incumbent Finance Minister Bedri Hamza, Home Affairs Minister Ekrem Mustafa, Public Administration Mahir Yagcillar and the head of the Kosovo Communists and BSPK Chairman Avni Aydini.
Otherwise, since 2000, firefighters have been the most overlooked and discriminated against, the only service not compensated for overnight shifts, for state and religious holidays, with the lowest cofficient in the country.
Since 2013, firefighters have no address where to articulate demands and have no definition of management competencies, as municipalities and MPB/AMEs do not assume responsibility as service manager.
