Conference held on boosting judiciary transparency in Kosovo

The conference on increasing the transparency of the judiciary provides opportunities to take a deeper look at the important issues related to the rule of law in Kosovo, namely the direct consequences of the transparency and insufficient accountability of the judiciary manifested in the form of undermining public confidence in the justice system.

The event aims to provide information from monitoring findings on the part of organisation civil society of the judiciary to keep it accountable to the public, as well as through panel discussions on disciplinary measures.

Program USAID for strengthening justice system entered partnership with B organisations IERN and FOL to measure and promote the compliance of the judiciary with obligations taken over from the aspect of transparency and accountability.

The conference is one of the activities agreed on to measure and promote judicial compliance with obligations to publish judicial decisions and relevant statistics; published disciplinary decisions and relevant statistics regarding complaints and decisions; as well as regulations and procedures during the treatment of gender-based substances and violence.

The conference is held today at the National Library facilities beginning at 9: 30 a.m.
