This decision has been taken into effect by the Election Rule for the census and Action of Political parties.
The Central Election Commission earlier has made a decision to unregister 8 political parties. This decision has been taken into effect by the Election Rule for the census and Action of Political parties. The rule in question clearly specifys that the census occurs, among other things, when the political party is not certified by the CEC to participate in three successive elections. Therefore, these eight political parties have been unregistered because they do not result in having been certified to participate in at least three parties in the last elections (2014; 2017 and 2019), nor as a political party to participate in the elections itself, nor as part of any pre-election coalition”, Elez told Online Economy.
He has indicated that 3 parties have complained about the CEC's decision to unregister PZAP, and 1 of these parties has continued the process in the Supreme Court.
The parties that have complained about the CEC decision are: Nova Snaga, the Republican Green Party, which has continued with complaints to the Supreme.
“Tri of these eight political parties have complained against the CEC's decision in the Electoral Panel for Anxiety and Parastance, and this institution has confirmed the CEC's decision, while one of these parties has continued the process even at the Supreme Court, which has also enabled PZAP's decision and subsequently of the KQZ”.
According to data from the CEC, Elez has announced that the number of political parties registered is 47.
“According to the latest data means after the decision on unregistering these eight political parties, the number of political parties that are registered in the CEC is 47”, he told EO.
Of the 47 political parties that are part of the registry of functional parties in Kosovo, 24 are Albanian, while from communities 6 are Serb, 7 Bosniaks, 3 Gorane, 2 Roma, 2 Turkish, 3 Ashkali and 2 Egyptian.
