Whether or not known as the Christmas tree has been placed for the first time since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
The tree was placed in the central square of Pripya's ghost city.
Once home to more than 47,000 residents -- about 3km from the former nuclear plant -- remains desolate due to radiation pollution.
Former residents returned to the abandoned town to decorated the family photo tree as part of a campaign organised by the Association of Chernobyl Tour Operators, the Ora News watches.
Some also brought clock decorations as a symbol of time and the fact that in time the city does not die but is resurrected.
