The head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Natalia Apostolova, will participate in the inaugural works of this 14m-euro European Union investment.
The inauguration will take place at the site called Resina, where the new heater will be built.
Construction of the biosonic heater will offer numerous benefits to citizens.
About 40% of Gjakova's citizens will benefit from the supply of high quality heating, there will be less air pollution with the new heater, which will also produce a certain amount of electricity.
Just a few weeks earlier, during a visit to Gjakova, Apostolova had expressed disappointment at not starting work on this heater, urging authorities to close all previous procedures.
The heating project is designed to operate in biomass, using agricultural and timber waste as fuel.
The Gjakova municipality had won this project in 2015, but its construction has not begun since then.
