At least 25 militants have been killed, and about 55 have been injured during the United States air strikes in Iraq and Syria.
The United States has said it has carried out <x0... precise defence attacks” against five targets in Iraq and Syria, which are controlled by a group of pre-militar Kataæb Hezbollah, which is backed by Iranian Shiites.
This group is considered terrorist by the United States.
The operation was also conducted in response to the murder of an American employee and a missile attack on an Iraqi military base.
The militant group reacted by warning revenge against the American operation.
Our response will be very severe to the American forces in Iraq”, said one of the militant group's leaders, Jamal Jaafar Ibrahimi.
US Defence Secretary Mark Esper has said that fighter planes, F-15 Eagle Strikes, have been activated for attacks that have had a target <x0komand> and Kataãob Hezbollah control zones.
He has said that “attacks have been successful”, but has not ruled out the possibility of additional attacks “if there is a need for”, it was said in a statement said by Esper and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeii in Florida.
Pompeo said he notified US President Donald Trump of the military operation.
We will not allow the Islamic Republic of Iran to carry out actions that endanger American men and women”, Pompeii said.
Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Monday condemned air strikes from the United States, saying they would have consequences.
The prime minister described the US attack on Iraqi armed forces as an unacceptable vicious attack that would have dangerous consequences”, his office said through a statement.
American air strikes in Iraq and Syria were also supported by Kosovo institutions.
Through a communique, the Kosovo Foreign Ministry said it supports the latest defence attacks on the Kataéb Hizbollah organisation in Syria and Iraq, praising them as necessary in rooting out terror and building peace in the world.
The Kosovo Foreign Ministry statement echoed the American Embassy in Pristina through a Facebook post.
“We commend Kosovo for its continued support in the fight against terrorism as a member of the Global Coalition”, said in the US Embassy's post.
Kosovo is part of the Global Alliance in the fight against the militant terrorist group, the so-called Islamic State. /rel
