This year has been tragic for Kosovo, during just one year 113 people have lost their lives as a result of traffic accidents, news reports.

A total of 16 thousand and 46 accidents that had occurred during this period, 100 had resulted in fatality, about 7 thousand injuries, while nearly 10,000 had only material damage.

During this period, police have pronounced over 41,000 tickets.

Nine fewer people have lost their lives this year, compared with 2018, yet the number of fatal accidents remains disturbing. And the number of accidents has increased to about a thousand more this year.

These statistics have become known about the news.net by the Kosovo Police.

“As long as this period of the year in our country has lost lives over 100 people as a result of car carelessness or in any other form of traffic participation, Kosovo police estimate that it is necessary to have an even greater inter-institute commitment and pro-active and active measures should be undertaken consistently to create more favourable circumstances for the number of accidents, in particular of fatal ones to be reduced further”, the police response reported.

Police say that carelessness, insufficient concentration, and oversight remain among the causes of human life loss on our streets, so drivers are the main host of responsibilities during traffic participation and the same should be cautious and vigilant because apart from endangering others not rarely, they are part of fatal statistics.

“Police as law enforcement authority are working with dedication through operational planning, campaigns, etc., for the ongoing reduction of accidents and will take legal action against anyone who violates the rules and violates road safety”.
