At today's press conference after marking the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Northern Macedonia and the Russian Federation, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said the country of Northern Macedonia remains open for as much deeper economic co-operation with Russia and other states, but according to him, Northern Macedonia does not seek alternatives other than the EU and NATO.
There is no other alternative than NATO and the EU. Our people have told us that, about 80 percent of our citizens are for the integration of Northern Macedonia into NATO and the EU. It is our interest, as is the interest of the EU and NATO countries, to co-operate with the rest of the world. We cooperate with Russia and with the Middle East as well as with many Asian countries, such as India and many other countries, because it brings direct prosperity to our population. But we always point out that there is no alternative for us except NATO and the EU” said among other things Zaev. /Alsat/
