Patients with cancer should tell their doctors if they receive herbal therapy because some components can stop treating cancer, they are told at a cancer conference, writes the BBC.
Garbage, ginger, and jeans, for example, may delay healing skin wounds when breast cancer spreads.
Surgery Prof Maria Joao Cardoso said there is no evidence that plant therapy or cream can function.
If you doubt, it is better not to take anything, she said.
“The doctors must be more active and should ask their patients what they are consuming during cancer treatment,” told the BBC Prof Profos Cardoso, breast surgeon at the Champalimad Cancer Center in Lisbon, Portugal.
She said it is very important for patients to be checked by their doctors before experiencing supplementary plant therapies after the spread of skin cancer.
The danger is that many products can interfere with hormone therapy or chemotherapy treatments, and others prolong the blood clotting process that can lead to more lasting wounds to heal and cause more pain, the periscope follows.
She highlighted the following plant products as examples of those who slow down the coagulation:
garlic
ginko
plague
a horse
