Rama-Later Meeting Begins Vuciq-Zaev

It has started in Ohrid, North Macedonia, the second meeting of three of the leaders of the Western Balkans. Zoran Zaev, Edi Rama and Aleksandar Vucic have met for the second time in a month after Novi Sad to discuss the so-called “Balkan Schengen”. The meeting will discuss the implementation of free movement of coals and people between northern Macedonia, Albania and Serbia.
The meeting's goal is to find agreement on a list of priority measures, mainly within the framework of “measures. REA MAP”, to implement at accelerated pace within 2020 and ideally, before the upcoming Berlin Process Summit.
Top Channel has learned that these measures are linked to completing the entire bilateral legal framework for the realisation of free circulation among people with IDs and for those countries that still use passports at border crossings.
Several practical but impacting measures in trade between our countries in the Western Balkans will also be discussed at the Ohrid meeting, including having a guide, to modernise the crossing points infrastructure where possible, to remove certain bureaucratic procedures that can be digitised. /tch/
