Twenty-three women have launched a court hearing earlier this month, demanding that the Netherlands return them and their 56 children from the Syrian detention camps.
A district court in The Hague ruled in their favour on November 11th, ordering the government to assist “actively” children, but not mothers.
But, the Court of Appeals said it is a political issue and that a judge cannot be taken with it.
Holland's Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, praised the Court of Appeals' decision, saying that “is strange that a court has intervened in foreign policy”.
“They (the women) must be tried in the region. That's my point of view. I didn't send these kids to Syria. It was their parents who made such a ridiculous decision”, Rutte said.
Turkey has launched the expulsion of foreign jihadists this month and has criticised Western countries that refuse to repatriate their citizens who have fought for the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
