This was the second edition in the framework of the Mural Festival Nomad, which was organised by the non-governmental organisation Color Futuration from the south and the organisation "Lincı from northern Mitrovica.
The NGO's director, Bardhil Dobroshi, has made known about KosovaPress that the goal of creating these murals is to change the city's view of good.
We've decided to finally get to the Ibër Bridge and change its view for the better... We have Albanian and Serbian artists, since we have also done the festival with the two communities. We held a camp in Vladhi where we made the sketches, after the camp we came to the city of Mitrovica in the south and north, and we started with our works”, Dobroshi said.
He hopes that the following years this city will be filled even more with such murals and attractive ones.
On the other hand, Milan Dobric, from the non-governmental organisation Linkı, headquartered in northern Mitrovica, said the purpose of all of this is that as many young people get involved in this activity, so that even for a few moments the problems associated with politics may be forgotten.
According to him, little does matter which community it belongs to because the problems and things they do are similar, and the goal is to work.
The goal is to get as many young people as possible and creative people as possible, and to at least for a moment forget the problems that surround us and connect to politics... Today we're working here on the bridge, and as you can see, we have walls on which many and everything are written, while we've decided that we've made every bit of these different walls, so that we can make our city more beautiful both by one and by the other... we absolutely don't see if anyone is Albanian, Turkish or Serbian. The goal is to work... people we are, we end up doing things like this, we aim at decorating the city, even for a few years, until someone destroys”, Dobric stressed.
Otherwise, this event, which in addition to the creation of today's murals, has included camping and various workshops over the past few days, has cost over 80,000 euros, while being financed by the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society and the Directorate of Culture in Mitrovica.
