An employee takes at least four days a year off because he is ill, according to the National Statistics Office.
The most common reasons for taking a break in 2018 were colding, muscle problems, such as back pain, and mental - health problems.
Some 3,655 people over 16 years of age were questioned.
In addition to pretending to be sick themselves, workers also often cover their colleagues when they know that they are pretending to be sick.
The survey found that 66% of them wouldn't tell the bosses if they knew their vacation colleagues weren't sick.
