Amateur photographer, Risto Mattila, was among the people who saw the <x0-vels of ice” on the island of Hailuccio in Botnik Bay between Finland and Sweden.
Experts say that this phenomenon is caused by a rare process in which small pieces of ice are blown by wind and water and thus increased and developed as oval.
I was with my wife on Marianiam Beach. The weather was sunny, the temperature was -1 degrees and there was wind. We saw this amazing phenomenon, there were ice eggs and beer along the beach near the water line”, the photograph Mattila said.
He said that these iceballs lay some 30m long along the coast. The smallest balls were the size of a chicken egg, and the largest were the size of a football ball.
This was a great view. I've never seen anything like this in this” district, he added.
However, such a phenomenon has previously been reported in other countries, including Russia and the United States, writes “BBC.
