Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic sent their condolences to Albania following a devastating earthquake that struck the country this morning, saying Croatia has decided to send a specialised rescue team to Albania.
“In conversation with Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, I expressed my condolences to the victims' families and sympathy towards the Albanian people, following the strong earthquake that struck Albania”, Plenkov said in his Twitter account.
”Based in a government decision, Croatia will send a specialised team to Albania for rescue from ruins”, he added.
President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic expressed her condolences to the families of earthquake victims.
“deeply saddened by the tragic earthquakes in Albania. My sincere sympathies and condolences to the Albanian people and the families of the victims. I wish a quick recovery for the wounded”, she said in her Twitter account.
A search and rescue team involving 15 civil defence officers and 8 were researchers would fly two military helicopters to assist in rescue operations after the earthquake in Albania. /Attish
