This is what comes out of the London University study, co-ordinated by Maria Chait.
The authors of the study have shown that the brain is able to recognize well - known pieces of music stored on our personal favorite list of our memories very quickly.
To do that, they monitored, through encephalomograms and pupilla measurement techniques, brain activity of five men and five women, making them listen to familiar music passages and other unknown ones.
Understanding how the brain knows the known melodies is important in studying music as a therapy for some forms of madness”, the Chait co-ordinator stressed.
