Adnan Merovci: Country Could Go to Elections Again

In the meantime, there are more than 1,000 surveys that are recounting. And, the biggest problem of this election process, it is considered precisely counting citizens' votes. Election Processor Adnan Merovci says about The KP that there should be an election technical reform in Kosovo.

According to him, the country should have an electoral code, for all challenges to adapt to the election process.

Merovci says there have been many irregularities in the vote count, while proposing that commissioners be elected by public competition, not be militants of political subjects. Merovci says the main blame for these irregularities is the Central Election Commission itself.

The first “is the CEC, which must admit its guilt and that with some pressing of some wrong lists. That's the human factor, whoever works wrong, but now he can't praise the CEC, but blame it for being avoided. The second political subject needs its commissionors not to challenge them to be militants. Even of certain candidates. They are of certain parties and favour some candidates, which causes them some moments. They can affect the outcome because they make wrong paper invalid, which they can do. The next issue is the animation and the noncompliance of candidates' votes with the number of subjects causing compliance again. And that causes a deadlock and we're where we're”, says Merovci.

While speaking of electoral reform, Merovci does not see it as a direct settlement to the QNR, as in this case there would be many irregularities.

He stresses that the election threshold percentage should be changed.

For our democracy, the threshold would have to be selective. 5 per cent were coalitions, 3 per cent political subjects and 1 per cent independent candidates. Is there in Kosovo today that an independent candidate has been elected? There are Kosovo people who had received independent votes as if it were a higher threshold. For you to become an MP today with this electoral system, you must get the votes of seven deputies, completely of his threshold. That you can pass the 5th threshold, minimum 43 thousand votes. Don't tell you that even the threshold issue has caused problems”, Merovci adds.

Mervoci says the country can still go to the elections, not because of the election process, but because of the government's failure to form.

“Po is likely if institutions are not created, not as a result of certificate, that you cannot move to other elections without certificate of this election. But as a result of the legal failure of the institution, forms are known. The first subject of first attempt cannot make Government even the second attempt fails, and with automation, extraordinary elections are declared. Kosovo's most repeated elections are a result and an extremely touching moment that very little is mentioned in us, which is cost. Five, six million needs additional, five-six million is a lot of big money and major damage to Kosovo”, he claims.

Posting by Merovci is a bad way, due to irregularities and difficulties.

Albin Kurti, who is aiming at the new executive governance, has promised that with his coming to the helm of the government, the Magyar vote will take place in consulates, not through mail. For this, Merovci says it would be a good way to avoid irregularities.

Otherwise, currently with the PZAP decision, there are 1428 re-countings, where only 50 per cent of them have been completed until yesterday.
