Although the high figure of people who died in communications, Kosovo Police say fatal accidents have suffered decline. If we compare the statistics of fatal accidents this year to the same time period of the year spent, the number of dead in communications has dropped by 10.
“Janar-ter, 2018, out of 80 fatal accidents, 102 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents. While January-October 2019, out of 79 false accidents, 92 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents or 10 less than last year”, a written response by Kosovo Police for Signal Gazette is said.
According to these statistics, even accidents with injured persons have suffered a decline. Of 5033 injuries, 9667 people have received medical treatment, or 816 persons fewer than in the first 10 months of 2018.
During this year in Kosovo, 8094 accidents resulted in only material damage.
A total of 13,206 accidents” occurred this year, police said further.
While for all violators of road traffic regulations, during ten months police have pronounced a total of 368,370 traffic tickets.
In the fall of fatal accidents and those with injured persons, police said they have affected operational plans, increased patrol units and those with civilian cars, awareness campaigns, and so on.
“also should be indicated that the only police cannot prevent all accident cases, because the engagement of other acts, and in particular automotive executives, is necessary”, the police's responses are said.
Kosovo police have appealed citizens since 15 November to have winter auto equipment. So that each vehicle will be available for the winter season.
