UPP technical workers “Hasan Pristina” in Pristina are again protesting before the University of Pristina's Rectorate.
Protesters are protesting that their minimum wage is 350 euros.
According to them, technical workers are being discriminated against, so they have decided not to perform their duties unless their demands are met.
Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi said workers no longer stand at 250 euros of salary.
He has warned strike by next week if their demands are not met.
We requested that the salary be 350 euros, while the reactor's rationale was that the budget is missing. We're suggesting that we are protesting for the last time, and our next step is to complete end of work until these demands are met. We're definitely here to make sure our salary is 350 euros or we start with this pressure. Most of the workers are hospitalised by detergents and normally deserve this salary increase or we'll go on strike. We from next week will go on strike and have no specific time. We demand that our salaries be five times smaller than that of the reactor because we deserve and the stages should be paid”, Azemi said.
Security Workers' Chairman Rexhep Gashi said they will not stop with protests and strikes until their demands are met.
It's very true that all workers want this and we'll constantly come out until those conditions are met. If the reactor is willing to talk to them, we're definitely going to talk about a” deal.
Technical Workers' Association Chairman Hysni Gashi has warned the strike because he said neglect is continuing and ignoring their demands.
“The staff's not walking. If wages don't grow and don't take any action, we'll continue. The number of technical workers is 133 and at the moment active 100. We together with technical workers will sit and talk about strike”.
