One of the main messages sent by Russian Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev's visit to Serbia is that Russia will not allow it to be excluded from resolving the Kosovo issue.
The Russian prime minister's visit to Serbia has thus been praised by diplomat Zoran Milivojevic.
“This message has special significance currently, given the American initiative, the appointment of special envoys and efforts to speed up and renegotiate the issue on a platform that does not correspond to Serbia's national interests”, Milivoyevic told ♫Tajug, broadcasting news.net.
According to him, this platform includes realising Western interests and recognising Kosovo's independence.
He thinks Medvedev's visit confirms that Russia will remain stable in its support for Serbia and will not allow itself to be excluded from resolving this issue, nor resolved beyond the scope of international law and Resolution 1244.
This time, Russia has sent a very clear message that it will stand on Serbia's side and that it will not allow any solution that does not imply the protection of Serbia's municipal and state interests”, Milivojevic stressed.
