Hundreds of millions of euros. Double growth. Economic zones in each city of Kosovo. Pay and pension increases. Opening tens of thousands of new jobs. These are some of the promises by which political parties are promising “to citizens. But this beautiful dream is expected to end after Sunday, since it is estimated that many of these vows are completely unalterable.
Megalomane promises have become the trend of political subjects before any election. As of past times, even in the current election campaign candidates of political subjects for prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo are not being spared from the big promises, which are considered undiscovered by the state budget, writes the newspaper “Voice”.
Among these electoral pledges is economic growth of between 6 and 9 percent. But civil society representatives estimate that such a thing is impossible to achieve.
During eight days of campaigning, promises have also been made to create economic zones in each of Kosovo's cities, as well as investments of hundreds of millions of euros. The parties have so far pledged around 20 funds, in which there is the Sustainable Employment Fund, which totals 200m euros.
Officials of political affairs consider that a considerable part of these promises are irreplaceable. Consequently they say that after Sunday, the day elections are held, everything will turn to reality and end “before the” promised by politicians.
