Regarding cases of sexual harassment at the workplace, both in the public sector and in private, news.net has contacted Kosovo Police and the Ombudsman's institution.
This year alone, about five cases of sexual harassment that have occurred at the workplace, in public and private institutions, are reported to the ombudsman Institute.
And during 2018 IAP has accepted a case that was monitored in the Constitutional Court and the same ended in 2019.
Of these only one case has been resolved by the justice body, the court has taken the case with which the accused has been convicted and convicted.

“Based on the mandate of the Ombudsman Institute (IAP), defined with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Law for the Ombudsman, IAP accepts and investigates complaints by each person who claims to have been violated of rights and freedoms by public authorities in Kosovo. Within the accepted complaints are complaints concerning sexual harassment”, the ombudsman's institution's response reported.
According to them from the four complaints the ombudsman has accepted during 2019, three cases have ended with the IAP ruling, while one case is still in the investigative procedure.
“During 2018 IAP has accepted a case that was monitored in the Constitutional Court and the same ended in 2019. During 2019, IAP received four complaints about sexual harassment. Three cases have ended with the IAP decision, while one case is still in the investigative procedure. IAP has also received a complaint in 2019 regarding sexual harassment that occurred in the private institution”, said the IAP's written answer.
And a case has been selected from the organs of justice.
“A case has been resolved by the justice body, the court has taken the case with which the accused has been convicted and sentenced to”, reportedly in response to the ombudsman's office.
Meanwhile, from Kosovo Police data, it is said that in just six months this year, there are about 20 cases of sexual harassment in general, presented by police.
