Ali won Nobel for his peace work and to end the 20-year conflict with the neighbouring state of Eritrena.

He was born in the town of Bisha in the historic province of Kaffa in 1976. His father was a Muslim who had four wives, and his mother was Aunta Wolfe, an Orthodox Christian.

His childhood name was Abiyo, which means revolution, writes Periscope.

Abiy became prime minister of Ethiopia in April 2018. In his speech of accepting the mandate, he had promised reforming policies, promoting the unity of Ethiopia and the people in Ethiopia. He also promised to resolve conflict for the Eritrea border.

During his talk, his popularity had increased to remarkable proportions. /Periscope
