A month's detention for arrested police in the north

Pristina's foundation court has assigned the 30-day detention measure to police arrested in the north, Rade Basara.

The Constitutional Court in Pristina ʹ Special Department égnition judge has decided on the request of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo for the appointment of the detention move against the defendant R.B because of criminal acts of participation or organisation of the criminal group organised by Article 283/1 of KPRK and the misuse of official position or authority by Article 422/2 of KPRK.

The court has taken office and indictees R.B. has been assigned detention measures in length of 1 (a) month.

The court has found that the main condition for the detention assignment has been met, and the criteria from Article 187 par.1 have also been met. par.1.2 points 1.2.1. of KPRK, because there are circumstances that indicate the risk of fleeing the defendant with the intention of avoiding criminal responsibility and thus would hinder the course of criminal procedure.

Also met are the criteria from Article 1.2.2 187 par.1, given the concrete circumstances of the case there is reason to believe the defendant R.B. If found in freedom, it will eliminate, hide or change or forge criminal evidence, because specific circumstances show the defendant will prevent the flow of criminal procedure by influencing the witness.

Against that ruling, the parties have a right to complaint at the Kosovo Court of Appeals.
