For our country it is a very high cost to the state budget, to the hospital, to the patient, to the family, to the fact that this situation requires long hospital stays, attitudes, antibiotics, under-tex1> treatments, Silvana Bala said.
The number of affected lung cancer is on the rise. Pneumologist Sophia Bala says that about 60 new cases are recorded each year.
We diagnose about 700 new lung cancer patients annually. It's a considerable number. Similarly for chronic obstructive disease, where both pathologys as key factors have smoking”, he said.
Smoking is the main cause of lung cancer. Other factors, such as air pollution, diet, and physical inactivity, are also known.
Early diagnosis of this disease, but even treatment, was the focus of the 11th International Congress of Pneumology.
