In elections for the central level in June 2017, more than 42,000 citizens' ballots were declared invalid.
The figure of invalid votes almost doubled in October the same year the country went to local elections. There were about 80 thousand votes, which the CEC declared invalid.
From the count of 98.11% of the vote thus far from yesterday's parliamentary elections by the CEC, 40.155 ballots have been declared invalid.
This number could still increase, as no votes have been counted until the end, and even those sent by mail, conditional and disabled persons will be counted.
By contrast, the Central Election Commission in the 2017 elections had argued with the lack of proper information on how citizens should vote.
Even before the October 6, 2019 elections, The CEC has notified citizens of the vote, but it appears that the high number of invalid ballots continues to remain on the trend for any party election in Kosovo.
