The Lake of Perlepnica in Gjilan is drying up.
From 100 feet [30 m] of water now here, the level has dropped to 10 meters because of lack of resources.
Water supplies from this feather have water reserves for just one week, reports T7.
Concerned about the situation, the director of the Regional Water Company “Hydromoreva”, Muhamet Sulqi, also appeared on the dam Wednesday.
He says the company that runs it with the municipality has already found two alternatives from which water is thought to be provided.
Sulqi also says Gjilan has been facing a lack of water for 20 years.
And, according to him, it takes a big investment to solve these problems.
Meanwhile, Gjilan chairman Lutfi Haziri says he is waiting for the new government to share financial means for medium-term solutions in terms of water supply.
According to Haziri, a task force has already been formed, and the Inspectorate is 24 hours on the ground to punish the abusers.
During the summer we left behind, Haziri has declared the emergency situation until the citizens on this side are facing numerous water reductions.
