Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan has urged leaders of the Bosnian presidency to end a year-long political blockade that has sparked tensions in the country.
Erdogan held a joint meeting Tuesday in Belgrade with the three members of Bosnia's multiethnic presidency and Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic.
On the second day of his visit to Serbia, Erdogan also attended a ceremony for the inauguration of a Turkey-funded highway connecting Belgrade with Bosnia's capital, Sarajevo.
This is considered part of efforts to strengthen co-operation between the two once enemy countries.
Long after the end of the Bosnian war (1992-95), the country continues to be ethnically divided between the Bosnian Muslim and Serb-Croat majority.
Disagreements over relations with NATO keep blocking the formation of a new government even a year after general elections are held.
