Macedonia's Prime Minister Zoran Zaev today said he is still in talks with Bilall Kasam's Besa Movement for obtaining technical formula concerning citizenship aimed at securing the 80 deputies needed for adoption of constitutional amendments.
“The EUSA is principledly committed to this issue, as are the eight deputies of VMRO- The DPMNE and the Coalition, and there are the “first to protect the identity of Macedonia”. The core of the EUSA Movement is that through the Macedonian/civilisation of the RMV, it will not be impressed that Albanians, Turks, Serbs, Vlachs, Roma and all others in the state will be Macedonians. That's the point. The technical aspects for solutions are being sought. Macedonia's citizenship, however, will remain so. There is no dilemma. B The ESA does not want to change identity or the like. The bright eye of eight deputies is doing just that like us and other MPs. We are working to find solutions for technical formulas as citizenship for all to be Macedonians/citizens of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, meanwhile, Albanians and other ethnic communities not to be Macedonians”, Zaev said at the press conference after promoting the authorised economic operator.
He added that Macedonians in the state should not fear that any Albanian party or Albanian MP seeks to jeopardise their identity.
We all engage that identity, which was disputed, eventually guaranteed. Albanians did it in the referendum as well as with support for the Prespa Agreement, at the same time we Macedonians do not intend to change any feeling or ethnic affiliation. Those are human values and rights”, the prime minister said, broadcast Alsat M.
Zaev reiterated that the total number of MPs who would back constitutional amendments would be known at the moment of the vote. It expects that this will be seen today or during the first amendment vote in the Assembly.
“The responsibility at the end is of MPs and I believe that they will find the strength to gather two-thirds of the deputies, respectively, so that the referenda will be voted in because then the vote in the Greek Parliament --” follows, Zaev says, and showed conviction that “if we are creative, we will find solutions”.
He said he cannot at the moment say 80 deputies have been secured, but also that he is willing to take his share of responsibility.
